Meh. I wanted then much more for this serial.
After reading the first volume, Parts Unknown, I was already looking frontwards to this adjacent volume. The same feelings of nostalgia apply to this graphic novels, and although I nonetheless haven't watched the movie again, I want to exercise it soon.

Again the art reminds of me of American cartoons I used to watch every bit a kid. They work great to tell the story but I wouldn't telephone call them beautiful or special. The story wasn't very original and obviously aimed at younger reader, only was enjoyable nevertheless.
I'm looking forward to a next volume.
Cheers to the publisher and Netgalley for providing me with a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review!

I will exist honest and say I haven't read the first volume, but this was easily understandable and I enjoyed it. Much more colorful and Cartoon-like than the feature picture show simply that's not a bad thing. A relaxing read. If You're a Scissorhands fan, y'all'll enjoy these comics.I received an avant-garde re-create of thus from Netgalley.com and the publisher.

Just like volume 1, I enjoyed the simple and straightforward plot. The artwork remained the same with all of information technology's lovely strangeness.

In this volume, I really enjoyed that we learned a scrap more about Megan'due south mom and why she is so bitter toward her mother, Kim Boggs. The employ of flashbacks was a great affect, only I do wish they had just a picayune bit of context.
I constitute the tone in this one to be much more creepy, which I actually enjoyed! However, near of it was still upbeat and fun.

Telly miracle medico, April Wells, is able to fix anything foreign or disfigured or unwanted past anyone. When Edward sees what this woman tin can practise, he ponders going in to do surgery on the show. When his friends observe how he looks at April Wells and what she tin can do, they put a telephone call in with his story. Thinking it a prank at first, April brushes it off, simply when she realizes Edward'south state of affairs is real, she finds that this human could perchance make her a whole lot of money.
Megan is on the contend about the idea of Edward getting existent hands. While she wants Edward to be happy, she is unsure most the methods involved in correcting his hands, and that he is unique with how he was created. Now Edward and Megan must get out of a tight and threatening circumstance.
Overall, I enjoyed the stories and the art quite a flake for these graphic novels. I had no idea that there were graphic novels for Edward Scissorhands until I heard the creative person was doing a signing, in which case, I treated my self to these graphic novels. I enjoyed the commencement volume more than the 2d one in that the horror element and overall creepiness was a bit more present, while I also got to see more of a character I really enjoyed in the moving-picture show, giving him time on the page. Kim has some minimal page time in that her girl and granddaughter constantly argue about the stories backside Edward. When Kim's daughter discovers her periodical, we find that she did, in fact, see Edward once again at least once, and that she greatly cared near him.
These were a very enjoyable read and very fun to build up the Halloween spirit!

I really bask this series. Since Tim Burton is ane of my favourite filmmakers and I actually liked Edward Scissorhands, this graphic novel series is pure joy to read. I love how it'due south gear up later and contains just a couple of flashbacks to the time period the movie is prepare in. I definitely recommend this to everyone who really enjoyed the movie and would like to know more than about what happens to Edward Scissorhands.

I'm a huge fan of the Edward Scissorhands picture show (and anything Tim Burton for that matter) and when I saw this one up on NetGalley, I jumped at the chance to read it.
The artwork in this comic is fantastic. It's colourful and captures the whole Edward Scissorhands vibe really well.
The story was besides quite fun. It starts out dainty & easy and slowly works towards a big finale. The new characters (like Aiden) are really fun equally well. It fabricated a really good afternoon read. Recommended for all Burton fans!

Absolutely loved the 2d part of this serial, and I wish in that location were more volumes! I was non expecting to cry as much as I did. This volume follows Edward as he applies for a reality show, with the intent of becoming "normal". Some of the themes and dialogue striking much, much closer to abode than I expected, seeing that, as a child, I wanted nothing more than to be seen every bit "normal" and to fit in. But as we see in this narrative arc, trying to change who you are but to conform rarely produces positive results, and the right people will love you because of who you are, not in spite of. And that is something I wish I had known when I was younger. (Also, don't trust reality tv hosts, but we all already knew that).
Anyway, tl;dr this was a fantastic read and I but wish there were more! Many thanks to Teisha for lending me it and for listening to me cry about my feelings.

I nevertheless think this series is intended for those already familiar w/ the Tim Burton film, but it'southward even so an entertaining read. I can't say I'm a huge fan of some small-scale details when it comes to the illustrations, merely I think they ARE a good representation of the off-kilter world this story is set up in.

Overall a disappointment. I wanted to love this serial, but it's a very mediocre off-shoot to a highly original moving picture. I received this book from Netgalley in commutation for an honest review. This does not bear upon my opinion of the book or the content of my review. It'south EDWARD SCISSORHANDS! How could I resist? Fifty-fifty if it is vol ii.
This series picks upwardly where the movies left off. Well...a few years downwardly the route. Kim's thousand-daughter Megan is the protagonist along with Edward himself. Kim has passed away, and Edward is the aforementioned as always. In the previous volume, Megan finds out that Edward isn't just a story her grandmother told. She finds out that he's every bit as real every bit she is.
In this volume, information technology opens upwards on repairs being finished on Edward'south castle. The art style is very well suited to this story. Information technology'south similar Courage the Cowardly Dog and Tim Burton had some sort of lovechild who could draw.
The only thing I didn't like almost the style wasn't fifty-fifty a consistent matter on every person every time, but I've included a picture to illustrate below:
This is Megan'southward mother/Kim's daughter. Those weird growths beside her optics aren't tumors, the artist only decided to describe actually exaggerated tear ducts. I edited them out simply to see if that was really what irked me about the art and in the couple frames I did simply for my ain curiosity, I liked the art so much better after the fact. It was just really distracting. I of the first times nosotros encounter Megan she has paint on her face up and I thought that they were more pigment splotches. I was concerned like, "Wow that pigment is really shut to her eyes."
The only other thing that stuck out to me was in the text:
"I'g pretty sure Megan got a drive with the Gibson boys..."
Is this a Canadianism or some sort of colloquialism? I've heard "got a ride" or "caught a ride", only I don't think I take always heard "got a drive" before.
Apart from that information technology was an interesting story arc with Edward seeing a woman on TV who does a makeover bear witness mostly for extreme cases. Edward wonders if she can help him by giving him actual hands.
Megan doesn't like the idea, because she insists that there's nothing wrong with Edward and he'due south peachy simply the way he is.
Truthful, just he's lived multiple lifetimes with freakin' scissors for hands. Are you lot really going to begrudge him the ability to touch without hurting or without the fear of hurting?
I go accepting yourself for who yous are, but he has pair of scissors for easily. His life is hard and he's been living it long enough for him to have been erstwhile manner back when your grandma was your historic period and burdensome on him. :P
There is a "goddamn" which didn't seem necessary? Without that, I probably would recommend for a much larger age group.

After much insisting from his part, Dr. Wells gets interested in Edward and asks to have him on her show, but what he and co. don't suspect is that this doctor is more than what meets the middle at first glance.
Like I mentioned in my review of the outset Edward Scissorhands volume, I love this comic mainly for the art. It is so weird and pops right out of the page in a very Tim Burton-esque way. Full of colorful blocks, designs, and past characters we all love, even if you don't similar the story, you'll probably honey the whole art of it.
In this second volume we're able to see how many side and main characters from the previous volume go accustomed to Edward and his hands, creating friendships that are very benefitial to both. And what I loved the most at the finish was that we get more backstory on Kim and Edward afterward she gets married, how it it affected her own family, and how kind Edward was to tell her she had a family to get back to, that he loved her (squeal!) and many more than things you'll be able to read here. It was then sweetness and interesting to know near these things that we wouldn't have known after the movie. Just a few footling what-ifs.
Dr. Wells was one creepy graphic symbol. A very manipulative, crazy, fame crazy, coin hungry, weird witchy person. I didn't like her at all, but her character served well to emphasize on 1000000 that how y'all look isn't the most important trait a person can posses. Plus her wrong-doings got 1000000 and Edward closer even so (yay).
Overall, it was an like shooting fish in a barrel and enjoyable read, and I'one thousand a consummate fan of these. I tin't wait for the 3rd one!

Edward sees it equally a gamble to take normal hands, but Megs has misgivings. Perhaps Megs is correct to have misgivings.
Edward is just as good a character as he ever is, with his lost look and his memories of the past. Megs female parent finds her mother Kim'due south diary. That has repercussions for her relationship with Edward. The theme of being okay with yourself are strong hither. The art by Drew Rausch is detailed, and he throws little easter eggs into his drawings for the discerning viewer. I call up I liked the kickoff volume a fleck better, just this ane isn't bad at all.

I am such a huge fan of Edward Scissorhands (and of Tim Burton also) that I couldn't turn down the oportunity of getting a glimpse of his earth again. The artwork is amazing, very colorful and cheerful, but still staying true and faithful to the graphic symbol we all know and beloved.
I enjoyed the story immensely. You lot can't help but feel sympathetic and compassionate for Edward, because all he truly wants is the ability to bear upon and feel things!

The first, Although I'grand a huge fan of the Tim Burton archetype, I just could not get into this book. I think of all of his creations, Edward Scissorhands might exist the least in need of a continuation. It works all-time as a standalone fairy tale. When y'all endeavor to add together to that, it just gets convoluted and degrades the original.
